What to Expect from Start to Finish
Our dentists will examine your smile and take digital x-rays to determine whether your case is eligible for ClearCorrect. If you have severely misaligned teeth, we may refer you to a specialist. Otherwise, we will provide you with an estimate of your costs and timeline.
When you decide on ClearCorrect, we will take impressions of your teeth. The process takes minutes and produces more accurate measurements than traditional methods. For patients with a sensitive gag relax, digital impressions are also much more comfortable than putty.
Your dentist can then digitally adjust the images to precisely design and customize your aligners. When the designs are finished, we will send them to a local lab. There, trusted technicians will fabricate the trays out of clear, smooth plastic according to your exact specifications.
The aligners will each have a slightly different shape, working towards your ideal dental alignment, so they will continually exert mild pressure on your dental arches. In this way, they will gradually shift your teeth over time as long as you remain compliant.
Once you receive your trays, you should wear each one for about two weeks. While you can remove aligners to eat and brush your teeth, you should wear them for at least 22 hours a day. You will visit us for regular checkups during treatment so that we can monitor your progress.
When you are finished treating your smile with the custom clear aligners, you will need to wear a top or bottom retainer, or both, in order to maintain your results. At our Nashville, TN, dental office, this appliance is included in the cost of ClearCorrect your treatment.
