Veneers are a porcelain covering that go to the front of the tooth that can make a tooth look whiter, straighter. They're commonly used for cosmetic purposes to make someone's smile look more perfect or more like they want it to look. Here at this office, we use porcelain veneers. They are the most natural-looking material that there is for a veneer. A good candidate for veneer is anyone who doesn't like the shape or the color or the alignment or any other abnormality that they may have on their teeth to help improve their smile.
Treatment lasts, usually for a veneer case, depending on how many veneers someone's getting. It can be a single veneer, which doesn't last very long, maybe an hour to two hours to a full mouth of veneers, which can take four to five hours where we start in the morning and then we add some time around lunch and that person will have their final veneers and when they leave that afternoon. We really try to make our veneers very strong so that they don't break, they don't come off. We very rarely have that issue.
